Not too long ago, I was in a lot of debt. I had paid for my own hairstylist training and even refinanced my home to pay for my salon. I was working hard and trying to invest everything I could into my business to make sure it would survive. I’ll be honest with you — I was scared. I was selling my clothes in my salon to help make the rent.
When I heard about a hair extensions training course near me, it felt like just the right opportunity to learn a really profitable service. I didn’t have the money right then, so I had to ask my mom to put the training on her credit card. My mom has always been super supportive of me, but when she said yes, I realized just how much she believed in me.
Now, I teach hair extensions training myself. Since that first training, I’ve done countless extension installs and worked my way out of debt. I founded Harper Ellis Hair Co. and teach the Harper Ellis Method across the country and online. I paid my mom back . . . and then some.
I used hair extensions to get out of debt and create even more opportunities for myself, my family, and my business. If I hadn’t taken that chance and invested in myself and my education, I would not be where I am today. My only regret is that I didn’t invest in education SOONER!
