In this Stylist Spotlight, we talked with Lori Smith, @lorismith_hair to talk about her career and her business.
Hey Lori! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi! I’m Lori Smith, and I’m located in Wilmington, North Carolina, with my family! I’ve been working in hairstyling for about 12 years, and working with hand tied extensions for probably 5 or 6 years at this point.
Tell us about your career as a hair stylist.
I currently work at Golden Salon and Dry Bar, which is a fairly new salon here in Wilmington. I specialize in extensions and color for my clients, so I wanted something really quality to use. I was the first person in this area to start working with hand-tied extensions and I wouldn’t go back to using anything different!
Can you tell us why you do hand-tied extensions – and why do you use our hair?
Hand-tied extensions are a step above in quality, in my experience. I stumbled across Harper Ellis on Instagram and just had a sense, sometimes your gut just tells you to dig a little more and pursue a product, and I’m really glad I did! Initially I was drawn to the shade options- typically I’ve been accustomed to ordering extensions and having to dye them to get colors I wanted for clients. Harper Ellis offers such a wide range of hair shades and their customer service was accessible and genuine. I also love that they are consistent- you can be confident when you order that you will get product on time and it will be excellent quality- and the packaging is so pretty too! I’m hoping to look into some of Harper Ellis’ classes and hair education soon as well. Can’t wait to see what they offer in the future!
